My Experience with New Maybelline The Colossal 24 Hr Kajal Deep Black with Aloe Vera
Packaging: This kajal comes in a sleek, bright yellow packaging. The prints in black against the yellow packaging make them to stand out. It comes in a retractable pencil form. It is quite sturdy and travel friendly. It is housed inside an outer paperboard carton, which also comes in the same yellow and black colors. Unfortunately, it does not carry an ingredients list.
Texture: This kajal has a smooth, but not creamy, texture. However, it glides on effortlessly without any tugging or pulling. It does not apply patchy or feel dry. Its thin wand makes it easier to draw a thin line for a sharply defined look. It has a classy black matte finish.
Performance: This kajal is not intensely pigmentation. It is not a deep or jet black color. However, color intensity is buildable. It is so smooth and glides on like a dream. It feels very soft when applied. Once it sets to a matte finish, it does not smudge or budge. There is absolutely no product wastage as it comes in a retractable pencil form. Boosted with aloe vera, a natural ingredient known for its caring and soothing properties, this kajal does not irritate even sensitive eyes. It has a very thin wand that is prone to break, so twist up only as much as required for application. However, the thin wand helps in drawing a neat thin line along the waterline as well as on the upper lash line. This kajal is to an extent water resistant and does not smear. It is not completely smudge proof either as it does smudge when rubbed harshly. Its claim to last for 24 hours is not near to truth as it starts to wear off from the waterline within 4 hours. The color starts to wear off from the inner and outer corners on the upper lash line after 8 hours. Although the color wears off easily, it does not crease nor stain the crease line. This kajal can be easily removed with a cleanser itself, making it ideal for daily wear. My disappointment with The Colossal Kajal continues with this newly revamped version as well. I always prefer Lakme Eyeconic kajal for its intense black kohl look. Overall, it is just a plain black kajal.
