New Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor HD Arabica Review, Swatches of Some Shades, FOTD

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor HD Arabica

Hello ladies,

I remember my first proper lipstick was from Revlon. I had so many of them during my college days. I have no clue why my love towards them faded to a point that I do not have even one Revlon lipstick now. I even stopped checking at their counters. That is probably because of their steep prices as well as my newfound love towards Maybelline. However, their newly launched Ultra HD Gel Lipcolors grabbed my attention, and the next moment I am at their counter swatching them. I picked the shade “HD Arabica.”

My Experience with New Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor HD Arabica

Packaging: This Ultra HD Gel lipcolor comes in a slim, color-coded, twist-up metallic tube with a clear cap. The color-coded packaging makes it obvious which color I am picking up. The cap shuts off with a click, making it travel friendly. The bullet too swivels up and down with a click. The narrow slanted tip aids in more precise application. The silver lining with black lettering gives a break to the monochromatic packaging. The shade number and name is indicated on a sticker at the bottom of the packaging. Other information such as price, shelf life, and ingredients are also provided.

Texture: The texture of this Ultra HD Gel lipcolor is thin, lightweight, and glossy. It applies smoothly, evenly, and flawlessly without any dragging. This lipcolor is so soft that it even chips a bit in the tube itself. It is extremely moisturizing and comfortable on the lips. It gives a glossy, balmy finish. It has a good shine and is absolutely non-sticky. It has a decent pigmentation. It contains a strong but pleasant vanilla scent to it.

Shade: “HD Arabica” is a warm reddish brown with gold sparkles. However, the sparkles do not transfer to the lips. This stunning color has a semi-opaque coverage. The color payoff is smooth and even. As this shade is so close to my natural lip color, I was able to flaunt this shade without much layering. Even layering will not make it heavy.

Performance: These Ultra HD Gel lipcolors have been launched at the right season as this is the time to take extreme care of the lips from drying out and chapping. These lipcolors are super hydrating and moisturizing on the lips. The formula contains argan oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, and hyaluronic acid. Who will not like hydration with a pop of color 😉 HD Arabica glides like butter and feels extremely comfortable on the lips. It does feel lightweight and non-sticky. It gives a glossy finish with sheer to medium coverage. Swiping a couple of layers gives an opaque glossy color that wears for about 3–4 hours, which is definitely not bad for a balmy lipstick. However, there will be no balmy feel on the lips. It wears off evenly, and darker colors leave behind a nice stain. Although extremely glossy, this lipcolor does not feather nor bleed. It makes the lips look fuller, plumper, and healthier. It does not highlight dry patches as well. It surprisingly keeps the lips moist throughout the wear time. It does not settle into fine lines. Another best part with this lipcolor is that it does not move around and pressing the lips together is not a problem. However, the price is the biggest drawback. Also, we get only 1.7 grams of product. I find L’Oréal Paris Infallible Sexy Balms performing equally good with half the price and double the quantity. Overall, it is a good glossy lipstick with no stickiness or tackiness.
