Sugar Cosmetics is on a launch spree! They have added new shades to all their three lipstick ranges. First, they added 6 new shades to their “Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick” range [already reviewed HERE]. Then, they added 5 new shades to their “It’s A-Pout Time! Vivid Lipstick” range [already reviewed HERE]. Now, they have added 10 new shades to their “Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick” range. I could not restrict myself from picking their new lip shades. Thus, I picked a new shade from this range as well. I picked the shade “12 Don Fawn,” which is a “one-coat wonder.”

My Experience with Sugar Cosmetics Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick 12 Don Fawn
Packaging: This liquid lipstick comes in a square transparent tube with a twist-up matte black cap. Being see-through, it is extremely easy to spot it on our stash. However, the shade that comes on the lips is not exactly that you see through the glass tube. As other Sugar products, this liquid lipstick also comes in their typical paper carton with a classy abstract art. All the necessary information, including the ingredients list, is printed on it. The sponge-tip applicator works well in picking the right amount of lipstick and spreading evenly and smoothly on the lips. Its sleek, leak-proof packaging makes it travel friendly.
Texture: The texture of this liquid lipstick is soft, smooth, and lightweight. Though it applies with sheen, it sets in seconds to a flat matte finish. Once it sets, it is smudge proof, transferproof, waterproof, and longwearing. It applies evenly and smoothly on the lips. It is truly a one-coat wonder. It does not feel heavy or patchy at any point of time. However, it highlights every single fine line on the lips.
Shade: “12 Don Fawn” is a light brown with cocoa hue and yellow undertones. It is a subtle brown that is ideal for work. It could easily even be a perfect nude for deeper skin tones. This time the color range covers mostly darker shades, especially browns. They are a “greige rose” named 11 Greige Rage, a “yellow brown” named 12 Don Fawn, a “peach nude” named 13 Wooed By Nude, a “warm brown” named 14 Teak Mystique, a “pale pink” named 15 Blush Rush, a “rose brown” named 16 Bare Flair, a “marsala” named 17 Fiery Berry, a “dusty burgundy” named 18 Divine Praline, a “magenta purple” named 19 Jet Set Violet, and a “mocha brown” named 20 Cocoa Ammo.
Performance: This liquid lipstick is awesomely formulated matte, highly pigmented, and long-wearing one. It does not feather nor bleed, making your lips look perfect all day long. This gorgeous brown shade could easily be one of the best-looking shades on Indian skin tones. When freshly applied, the color transfers exactly how the shade is defined. But the moment it turns matte, it looks entirely different. I just love the color only when it is wet, so I generally apply a lip balm or gloss over it [this is completely a personal choice]. This liquid lipstick glides on evenly and does not cling on to dry patches. However, exfoliating and prepping lips is a must for dry-lipped people. It is very drying on the lips, so a lip balm underneath is essential. It will stay put on your lips until you intend to remove it—no fading, no smudging, nothing. However, if you eat or drink, the lipstick on your inner lips goes off. It is absolutely transferproof unless you have something to eat or drink. One major downside is that if you try to wet your lips, the color crumbles from the inner lips. It was so obvious with this kind of highly pigmented lipstick. After 3–4 hours, it starts to highlight every single fine line on the lips. My lips start to look and feel dead. This no-bother, all-day liquid lipstick calls for all your attention at the day end as it is quite hard to remove. A makeup remover or oil is a must. This liquid lipstick performs exactly like Chambor eXtreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipstick but in half the price. Unfortunately, Sugar has not formulated this liquid lipstick without parabens as their other lipsticks. Overall, it is the most affordable matte liquid lipstick.
