New Launch: Colorbar MesmerEyes Kajal Review, Swatch, EOTD

Hello ladies,

Kajals play a major role in Indian beauty market as they are one of the most loved makeup products by Indians. Keeping up with this trend, every brand launches new kajals. The latest to join in with a new launch in kajals is Colorbar. It is their new “MesmerEyes Kajal.” The brand claims that “We have travelled 5925* km to bring you our most unique kajal [*Approx air travel distance between India and Germany].” With much expectation, I picked this kajal. Let us now see if their claims are true!

Price: INR 299 for 0.35 g [BUY HERE: Colorbar MesmerEyes Kajal]

Shelf Life: 2.5 years

Product Description: Our kajal has been formulated with unique and patented ingredients to give you maximum care and the best of experiences. This is due to Hyaluronic Acid, Vit C, Vit E, Vit B3, Sunflower oil, and our unique protective system called “Defensil,” which originates from the stems of vegetable extracts. The combination of other ingredients stimulates cell turnover, restores vitality, and makes the skin fresh.

My Experience with Colorbar MesmerEyes Kajal

Packaging: This kajal comes in a sleek, glossy black packaging. The prints in white against the completely black packaging look classy. It comes in a retractable pencil form. It is quite sturdy and travel friendly. It is housed inside an outer paperboard carton, which has a beautiful graphic eye printed on it. All information, including the ingredients list, is listed in detail on the outer packaging.

Texture: This kajal is deep black. It is extremely soft and creamy. It glides on effortlessly without any tugging or pulling. Its finest tip allows drawing a thin line perfectly. Also the tip does not go flatly blunt. Although it applies with a little bit of shininess, it settles down in a few seconds to a lovely velvety matte finish.

Performance: This kajal has an intense pigmentation. Compared to all kajals including Lakme Eyeconic Kajal and Plum Natur Studio All-Day-Wear Kohl Kajal, this kajal is extremely soft and creamy. It is so smooth and glides on like a dream. As it does not require even the minutest pressure to apply it, I tried to tightline my eyes for the first time, and I am thrilled that I could achieve it. It has high intensity coverage. The color payoff is absolutely brilliant on both upper and lower lash lines. One stroke is quite enough to get that super-intense look. The tip even being so creamy does not go blunt. There is absolutely no product wastage as it comes in a retractable pencil form. It is dermatologically and opthalmologically approved and is suitable for contact lens wearers. It is mineral oil, preservative, and paraffin free. All these qualities make this kajal true to half of the brand’s claims.

Now let us talk about the brand’s other claims like this kajal being waterproof, smudge proof, and up to 10 hours stay. It is definitely not 100% waterproof or smudge proof. If you have the habit of touching your eyes or have watery waterline, you are all likely to get panda eyes with this kajal. Else, it stays put. On the upper lash line, it does not crease nor stain the crease line. However, it works well as a base for smoky eyes as it blends beautifully after the application. It definitely does not meet the 10-hr stay. The color starts to wear off from the waterline and from inner corners after 3 hours. On the upper lid, it lasted around 5 hours. However, I am not sure how it will perform in a hot summer day. This kajal can easily be removed with a cleanser itself, making it ideal for daily wear. Overall, I like its super smooth and high intensity coverage.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Colorbar MesmerEyes Kajal

I would probably recommend this product to someone who likes their kajal to be really soft and pigmented and do not mind being it not 100% waterproof or smudge proof. I am not sure of repurchasing it as I prefer waterproof and smudge proof kajals.
